Behind every successful innovation is a well-grounded business model. In the ODEON project, our team is placing strong emphasis on this foundation through the development of a value chain canvas, a strategic tool that aligns user needs with project offerings.
The process begins with the customer profile: a deep dive into understanding our users, from the goals they aim to achieve, to the frustrations they encounter, and the outcomes they value most. This step is crucial to identify the real pain points and motivations of both prosumers (individuals who produce and consume energy) and industry stakeholders.
Next, the focus shifts to the value map, where the project team outlines how ODEON’s solutions address these challenges. By clearly defining how our services alleviate user pain points and deliver tangible benefits, we ensure the project remains user-driven and results-oriented.
To support this approach, Joanneum Research and Prospex Institute have collaborated to develop a series of guiding questions aimed at shaping the upcoming second Living Lab in France, which will be featured during the next ODEON General Assembly. This Living Lab isn’t just about testing solutions, it’s about gathering first-hand, real-world insights from both prosumers and energy professionals.
The goal? To surface early, authentic feedback that can directly inform the design of relevant and sustainable business models tailored to energy communities. By putting human stories and perspectives at the center, ODEON aims to co-create solutions that resonate deeply with those they’re meant to serve, ensuring greater impact and long-term success.
