ODEON has reached a significant milestone with the completion of the End-User Requirements & Detailed Architecture Design work. This achievement aligns the needs of stakeholders with the technological advancements necessary to drive the ODEON project forward.
The primary goal of this work was to ensure that the ODEON system is designed to meet the diverse requirements of its users, while incorporating cutting-edge technology to support scalable, interoperable, and secure energy data spaces and AI environments. This includes:
- Gathering end-user and business requirements through iterative focus groups.
- Translating these requirements into a modular architecture and technical specifications.
- Ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards, with a strong emphasis on privacy, security, and data protection.
After 12 months from ODEON’s launch, this milestone marks a major step toward building an interoperable and scalable energy data space and AI environment, enabling trusted, secure, and efficient energy applications.
The deliverable summarizing this achievement will soon be available as open access on the ODEON website, allowing everyone to review the project’s progress. The deliverable consolidates key results from the Work Package “Project Foundations, Requirements and Technical Design,” which includes:
- Development of the ODEON concept and Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
- Elicitation of 69 use cases and 310 requirements through focus groups, covering the full range of ODEON actors.
- Creation of a modular architecture and technical specifications, which include a Data and AI Risk Assessment Framework for privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
The platform architecture integrates key principles of interoperability, data sovereignty, and security, ensuring scalability and robustness. Additionally, a comprehensive risk assessment framework has been implemented to address privacy, security, and compliance with European digital rights and AI ethics.
In summary, this deliverable provides a solid foundation for the ODEON platform, setting the stage for future refinement and development as the project progresses.
