On 29 January, the ODEON project took part in the workshop “From Data to Action: How Digitalisation Accelerates the Energy Transition”, organised by the ECLIPSE DIGITAL Project. The event took place in Valencia and was also held online, allowing broad participation from across Europe.
The workshop brought together several Horizon Europe projects working on digital solutions for the energy sector, including ECLIPSE, OPENTUNITY, ODEON, Begonia, and INSIEME. The session provided a valuable space for knowledge exchange, collaboration and cross-project learning on how digital technologies can accelerate the energy transition.
Showcasing ODEON’s contribution to the digital energy transition

The event offered an excellent opportunity to showcase how ODEON’s smart solutions support the digitalisation of the energy transition through the combined use of edge computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.
During the workshop, ODEON’s Project Coordinator, Moisés, presented the project’s core technological approach, highlighting how ODEON enables the development of data-driven and intelligence-powered energy services across the energy value chain.
ODEON’s data space architecture: turning energy data into action
ODEON’s proposed architecture is based on a data space environment designed to enable secure, interoperable and scalable data sharing across the energy ecosystem.
The architecture integrates data from IoT gateways, edge and near-edge assets, collecting information from both decentralised and centralised sources. This data is consolidated within a cloud-based data space, which provides a common and trusted environment for data access, management and exploitation.
Through efficient data pipelines and a shared semantic model, data is filtered, contextualised and managed to ensure coherence, interoperability and value creation. Throughout the entire process, data privacy, security and

anonymisation mechanisms are enforced, ensuring trust and compliance across stakeholders.
This data space serves as the foundation for a catalogue of AI artefacts developed by the ODEON consortium. These artefacts enable innovative, intelligence-enabled applications targeting key actors of the energy system, including prosumers, Local Energy Communities and Distribution System Operators (DSOs), among others.
Together, these capabilities cover the full data value chain of the energy market, transforming raw energy data into actionable insights and advanced energy services.
ODEON’s approach is built around five key innovations, which further strengthen the project’s impact and replication potential. These innovations are described in more detail on the project website:
Strengthening collaboration across European projects
Workshops like this one play a crucial role in strengthening collaboration between Horizon Europe projects, fostering synergies and accelerating the adoption of digital solutions that support Europe’s energy transition.
